Dear Roman,

Just in time to kick off the holiday season Seattle had it’s first snowfall in 2010. You woke up to a light powder on the ground and a few flakes falling from the sky. Soon the white stuff started to accumulate and excitement filled our home. You had me tell you stories about how I would play in the snow as a child- I think you were trying to get ideas. My story about snowballs sparked your interest and I promised you we would have a snowball fight when Charlotte went down for a nap… I still owe you a match because we ended up braving the conditions and headed to a friend’s Thanksgiving party instead. There was popcorn, pumpkin muffins and a viewing of Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving. Mostly you just enjoyed playing with your buddies indoors where it was cozy and warm.

It’s the best feeling when something unexpected like a winter wonderland makes the day extra special. It’s one of the best parts of childhood and I was content watching you experience it all.
